ASTRID G. MUNN
Astrid G. Munn joined the Robert Pahlke Law Group in March of 2016. Astrid has a demonstrated concern for the injured and disadvantaged. Her focus is to advocate on her client’s behalf to insure them a path to justice as promised by the Seventh Amendment.
Astrid, a native of Scottsbluff, graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a bachelor’s degree in news-editorial. Astrid was a copy editor for the Daily Nebraskan in 2005 and 2006 in addition to being a member of the University Honors Program and the E.N. Thompson Scholars. Outside of school, Astrid was a copy editing intern at The Poughkeepsie Journal and The Lincoln Journal Star, where she was also an interim news editor of Hispanos Unidos, a Spanish-language newspaper. Astrid also completed a News21 Fellowship at UC-Berkeley in the summer of 2009.
Astrid earned her Juris Doctorate from Washington University in St. Louis in 2013. Astrid is currently admitted to the Nebraska State Bar and the Maryland State Bar. Astrid’s law practice in Maryland consisted of immigration and family law, along with criminal defense.
While in the Washington D.C. area, Astrid’s activities included:
- Interning at the Bureau of Indian Affairs;
- Interning at lobbying firm Watts Partners, focusing on Indian issues;
- Consulting for The Center for Empirical Research in the Law;
- Helping lead a political canvassing agency; and
- Serving as a Spanish-language interpreter in various scenarios, including being called upon to assist with three different murder cases involving Central American gang activity.
Astrid is excited to bring her experience and skills to rural Nebraska with the added bonus of living closer to her family. In addition to having the ability to speak, read and write in Spanish with native fluency, she has a desire to serve the growing Latino communities in Western Nebraska.
In her free time, Astrid enjoys hiking the local trails with her dog, Duffy, and supporting various causes, including Panhandle Equality and the Southeast Scottsbluff neighborhood.
