The Robert Pahlke Law Group Secures $2 Million Verdict in Bad Faith Case

    The Robert Pahlke Law Group

We are pleased to announce that The Robert Pahlke Law Group has successfully recovered more than $2 million dollars on behalf of our client, Bamford, Inc. of Kearney, NE. The decision comes following a six day trial in which our legal team asserted that Bamford’s insurer, Regent Insurance, acted in bad faith during a recent personal injury suit that was filed against the company.

Bamford’s legal troubles began in 2009, when one of its drivers caused a severe auto accident that injured Mr. Bobby R. Davis. Mr. Davis sustained a catastrophic injury, and sued Bamford for a sum that exceeded $10 million.

During the lawsuit, Reagent ignored several settlement demands from the plaintiff that fell within the $6 million limit of Bamford’s policy. The matter was pushed to trial and a jury ultimately ruled in favor of Mr. Davis and awarded him $10,621,000.

Bamford, Inc. hired Attorneys Robert Pahlke and Robert Hippe to represent them in a bad faith lawsuit against Regent Insurance for its failure to protect their financial interests. The case was brought before the honorable Lyle Strom in Omaha, NE. During the six day trial, Attorneys Pahlke and Hippe presented testimony recounting Mr. Davis’ injuries and Regent’s own refusal to settle before the case moved to trial.

It only took four hours for the jury to return a verdict in favor of Bamford, Inc. The final awarded sum totaled $2,037,743.33, which recoups the money Bamford has paid exceeding its Regent policy and covers the company’s legal fees.

The Bamford decision is not only yet another example of the unparalleled legal service The Robert Pahlke Law Group provides to clients, but also a warning to insurance companies that feel they can play fast and loose with their customers’ finances. Following the verdict, Attorney Pahlke said, “We hope that this sends a message to all insurers in Nebraska that their first responsibility is to protect the financial interests of the individuals and businesses who pay their premiums.”
