    Types of Collisions

When a driver is careless or negligent in his or her actions, it is often innocent victims who will suffer. If you have been involved in a collision caused by another driver, you may be able to recover damages for your injuries and loss with the help of a personal injury lawyer from our Nebraska law firm. The Robert Pahlke Law Group represents accident victims and their families in all types of collisions, including but not limited to:

Head-on collision: This type of car accident occurs when the front of one vehicle smashes directly into another vehicle or object “head-on.” This type of accident is commonly seen when a driver goes the wrong way down a one-way street, falls asleep at the wheel, decides to text or talk on the phone while driving, gets behind the wheel after consuming too much alcohol or becomes distracted.

Rear-end collision: A rear-end collision occurs when one vehicle hits the back end of another vehicle. Drivers who do not leave enough room between their vehicle and the vehicle in front of them are far more likely to be involved in a rear-end collision. Speed can also play a role in this type of accident. While many rear-end collisions do no result in serious injury or death, there are instances when the severity of the impact is enough to cause life-threatening or fatal injuries.

T-bone or side impact accident: A side impact accident occurs when one vehicle hits the side of another vehicle or “t-bones” it. This type of accident tends to occur in an intersection when one vehicle fails to yield or follow posted traffic signs and signals. A side impact collision can also happen when one driver loses control of his or her vehicle and ends up slamming into another vehicle at an angle.

Roll-over accident: A roll-over accident occurs when a vehicle rolls on its side or flips over on its roof. High profile vehicles such as SUVs, trucks and tractor trailers are the most common types of vehicles to roll over in a collision or while the driver is attempting to make a turn at a high rate of speed. Vehicles that do not sit so high up, but rather travel lower to the ground, are far less susceptible to roll-over accidents.
